The Challenge

For a number of years, Agrovista’s Dundee site struggled with poor internet speeds, with 8Mbps download, 0.77 upload, and 33ms latency. Due to the remote location, 4G LTE and fibre were not viable options to provide the necessary speeds and bandwidth to support employee communication and devices. Agrovista, therefore, engaged  Clarus to design a suitable solution to meet operational demands.

The Solution

Clarus engineers conducted a detailed survey to identify the fastest and most stable type of connectivity to meet the project’s demands.

Due to the location of the site, we designed and installed a Starlink Business Low-Earth-Orbit (LEO) Satellite internet solution.

With unrivalled coverage and speeds, Starlink Business is perfect for remote and rural sites that require high-speed broadband internet for a high number of users.

The Results

Maximum possible speeds achieved on-site – averaging 240Mbps download

Latency of just 19ms

Fully networked site offices, allowing employees access the company network and collaborate in real-time with other colleagues across the company, as well as use IoT devices such as drones for monitoring crops.

Instant communication with Head Office, partners, suppliers, and the community.

✓ Reliable connectivity for business-critical applications and hardware

✓ Future-proofed primary and backup internet solution
