The Challenge

Since construction, the offices within the Mirfield facility have struggled with poor mobile connectivity. This is a very common problem within industrial buildings, due to the construction materials used (including steel, concrete, and Low-E glass) as well as often being located in rural areas and therefore far from the closest mobile masts.

This led to a number of operational challenges, including communication with other offices, suppliers, and customers. With little to no mobile coverage, health and safety in the depot was also a concern.

The Solution

Following a detailed survey and consultation period, the Boost Pro team liaised with a number of stakeholders to ensure the system could be implemented.

Boost Pro’s design team proposed a passive DAS to improve all four networks (O2, EE, Vodafone and Three).

Due to the poor donor (external) signal, high gain LPDA antennas were used in order to maximise the performance of the system.

This project leverages our license-exempt Passive DAS Industrial Signal Booster. This product benefits from:

✓ 3G / 4G / LTE Voice and Data
✓ Multi-Carrier Support with Carrier Switching
✓ Indoor / Outdoor NEMA 4 Rated
✓ Network Safe

The Results

All key areas now receive strong voice and data coverage across all four networks.

Employees can now easily communicate with all stakeholders, including other offices, suppliers, partners and customers.

The team now benefits from health and safety, productivity and operational advantages of being able to use mobile devices on the move within the site office.

Our products are license-exempt and fully comply with Ofcom’s UK Interface requirement 2102 (IR2102) (UK) and ComReg S.I.No.283 of 2018 (Ireland).
