Ninewells Hospital, Dundee
Managed by NHS Tayside, Ninewells Hospital is a large teaching hospital based in Dundee, Scotland. It is internationally renowned for introducing laparoscopic surgery to the UK, and is a leading centre in the management of cancer, genetics as well as robotic surgery and psychosurgery.
The medical school was ranked 1st in the UK in 2009, and the hospital has nursing and research links with the University of Dundee.

The Challenge
Due to the design of the building and materials used during construction (concrete, steel and Low-E glass), many hospitals suffer from poor mobile signal.
After an extensive consultation period and survey, it was agreed that two key areas of the hospital would be targeted – Switchboard Room and Level 7 IT Room.
The Solution
Our Quatra system was installed, which is a hybrid DAS solution, to improve NHS Tayside’s corporate mobile network, EE, in these two important areas of the hospital.
In a hospital environment, continuous and stable mobile connectivity is imperative, with staff having suffered from operational difficulties due to the poor mobile signal. The team at Boost Pro are delighted to have solved this problem with a strong EE signal in both areas.
