EICC

Mobile Connectivity Improvement Project

Edinburgh International Conference Centre

Opened in 1995, the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) is a multi-purpose venue for events located in the heart of Edinburgh’s city centre.

Since opening the building has struggled with poor mobile connectivity, unable to find a cost effective solution.

The Challenge

Due to the design of the EICC (as is common with many new buildings) the mobile signal is very strong outside the centre, but very weak inside.

The EICC tasked us to improve the EE signal within the Lennox Suite, the main event area within the conference centre. The Lennox Suite suffered from zero signal due to being below ground level.

The Solution

For this particular project we were able to internally mount the antenna to ensure cable runs were kept to a minimum, whilst still managing to ensure the signal gain was maximised.

We placed two coverage into the Lennox Suite which was enough to cover the 1600m² area with full EE coverage.
